Sylvia Manon Ramsden-Davis

Sylvia Manon Ramsden-Davis, age 85, of El Cajon, California passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023. She was surrounded by her loving husband and two of her grandchildren, who were able to travel to be by her side in the time of her passing.

She was born on August 20, 1938 in Harvey, IL. Her father John was employed with TWA Airlines and moved the family to Redondo Beach, CA in 1954, when Sylvia was a Sophomore in High School.

In 1960 she married Nelson R. Berquist and together they had two boys, Bryan and Timothy, over a 12 year period. From the time she graduated from Redondo Beach High School, she worked continuously in the Banking Industry and held a wide variety of positions. Upon retiring, she held the title of Vice President of Valle De Oro Bank and Neighborhood National Bank.

In 1973, while working at California Canadian Bank, in downtown San Diego, she met her current husband, Stan and they married in May of 1978. They recently celebrated their 45th Anniversary and although they were never blessed in the joy of children of their own, they shared 4 children, 10 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

Sylvia is survived by her husband, Stan, her two sons Bryan and Timothy; her step-daughter Stephanie, step-son Kevin and the previously mentioned grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Florence Ramsen.

Sylvia Suffered a severe stroke on October 21, 2021 and subsequently a broken leg while attempting to rehabilitate during therapy. Sylvia was a beacon of light into every life she touched. Her smile was only overshadowed by her kindness, concern, and care for others. She was affectionately referred to as the "Birthday Lady", as she faithfully remembered to wish everyone she knew a "Happy Birthday" (long before Facebook), by whatever medium available. Sylvia was a blessing to every life she touched.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 10:30 am, at La Mesa First United Methodist Church, 4690 Palm Avenue, La Mesa, CA 91941
