Bill was born on February 9, 1949 in San Francisco, CA. Bill was a loving husband, devoted father, beloved brother, and caring son. He is survived by his wife Jamie Boersing, Sister Diane Sanders, Children Billy Boersing and Mindy Fernandez, Christine and Christopher Edwards, Grandchildren Benett Boersing, Jackson Edwards and Grace Edwards, His stepchildren Melissa and Adam Williams, David Scully and Vanessa Martinez and step Granddaughter Aurora Stoltz. Bill is preceded in death by his father Carl Boersing, mother Waydene Wick, stepfather Al Wick, and stepson Brian Scully.
During Bill's long career history, he successfully developed several business models in the software industry and he received many accolades for his accomplishments. Bill was greatly admired by those that he worked with and developed many strong friendships that have stood the test of time.
Bill had a love for the fine arts and his collection includes artists Medvedev, Klimpt, Pecoff, and Moulton. He also had a fascination for glass art and he collected pieces from both travels and local glass artists and was gifted many pieces from family and friends. Bill enjoyed admiring the pieces in his lighted curio cabinets and would reminisce where each piece was from and who created it. Bill loved music and smooth jazz, which began at a Dave Brubeck concert at San Diego State University in 1961. This culminated in decades of live concerts that included The Rolling Stones, Devo, Elton John, Chris Botti, and Joe Bonamassa, among many others. Bill loved live music, whether it be a headliner concert or a patio performance.
Another of Bill’s lifelong passions revolved around fast cars. Bill’s affinity for the automobile began at a young age growing up in San Diego and visiting car dealerships off Highway 8. Beginning in his 20s and throughout his life, Bill owned memorable sports cars, including a 1966 427 Corvette, a 1965 Mustang, a 1966 427 Shelby Cobra, and a 1964 Galaxie, which his son, Billy, still owns and is donned with his Dad’s custom license plate, OLDRACR. Bill’s passion for cars lives on through his son, Billy, who now has a 1966 427 Shelby Cobra of his own.
As with fast cars, adventure was always in Bill’s spirit. He loved to travel and experience different cultures and communities. Throughout his life, Bill visited many beautiful places around the world and would often say “I want to live here one day!”. This love of culture led Bill and his wife, Jamie, to spend more than 8 years living in a humble yet beautiful small fishing village in San Felipe, Mexico. There, Bill and Jamie designed, remodeled, and lived in a beautiful custom hacienda in El Dorado Ranch, which they often opened to their local community. Bill fell in love with the simple life, known locally as Baja Bill in his red F-150. Bill is remembered by the San Felipe community for his generous and kind nature.
Bill was a loyal friend to many over the years and he will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
