Kevin Haggerty of San Diego passed away on August 24th, 2024, just before his 73rd birthday. He was born on August 27, 1951 in North Carolina and grew up in Spartanburg, South Carolina and Redlands, California. Kevin’s life was rich in adventure and joy. His greatest pleasures were found in his cross-country road trips and world travels, savoring well-seasoned food, and being surrounded by his big, loving family. His light and warmth touched the lives of many, earning him the affectionate titles of Brother Kevin, Uncle Kev, Dad, and Grandpa.
His career in hospitality and as manager of stadium concessions led him to work and live with the finest people in locations across the country. He managed ski resorts in Vermont, Mile High Stadium and Red Rocks amphitheater in Colorado, Soldier Field and Wrigley Field in Chicago, Fenway Park in Boston, Aloha Stadium in Hawaii, among many others hotels, restaurants, and venues.
He is preceded in death by his parents Louise Haggerty, Clifford Haggerty, and Betty Haggerty, as well as his brother Brian Haggerty.
He is survived by his daughters Jacqueline Clarke and Isabel Haggerty, grandson Maxwell, wife Suellen, siblings Eileen, Sharon, Maura, Bill, Megan, Katie, and Greer, as well as their spouses, his nieces and nephews, and dear cousins from across the family tree.
Kevin’s family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff of the UCSD health system, who cared for him with excellence and compassion in his final days.
Family and friends will be invited to celebrate Kevin’s life at a later date.
