In loving memory of my “Big Sis”, today marks the anniversary of her passing. Kudos to Erika & Jackson for making the long trip to Santa Cruz to pay their respects. Thanx to Craig’s love, understanding, devotion and companionship to the last days And, thanks to all her friends and supporters for your efforts in keeping her spirits up while she was still with us. 
May she live with us forever in our hearts.

MaMa, Today is more than bittersweet. Here we are: August 13th, 
Yay, it’s my birthday. It’s also been 13 months since you’ve been gone. I miss you so much, I’d give anything to hear your voice right now. I do have 2 voicemails that I never deleted and I’ve listened to them at least 20 times. Now that’s bittersweet……

I miss you soooo much MaMa! Jackson has been training, racing and kicking ass🏁🏁🏁. Love you so much❤️

I think of you often especially when I use the glass you gifted me. Craig- I think of you often too and hope you are doing well!

Happy New Year MaMa! I hope those treacherous waves aren’t bothering you too much. As strong as you are, it’s nothing but a small wave. I need your guidance now, more than ever. Keep a spot near you in that beautiful blue ocean, I may coming soon.

         It's been 5 months since you left us. I hope you're enjoying the ocean, as much as I do. I miss you so much, I feel so empty. I miss your love, your advice (even if I didn't like it). I miss you calling me "Biddy", I miss the way you'd swing your arm while driving and listening to the C.D.'s I made for you. I wish you were to watch Jackson race his dirt bike, he kicks ass! I want you to know that I keep in contact with Craig and I always thank him for loving you so much.

From our grandparents, and designed and drawn by our grandfather, this card is undated but describes Alex perfectly. Every word tells. 

Sometimes, when something would break, or go wrong, she would say “You’re the wizard, fix it.” And I would.  Sometimes. Actually, more often than not. Because I’m the wizard. Alexandra knew.
I held her hand as she took her last breath. 
I said “I love you Alexandra.”
I thought “But I can’t fix this.”
And she was gone. Because the wizard couldn’t fix it.

I miss you so much.

Mimsie, I miss you. I miss talking to you on the phone about hunting and riding my dirt bikes. I'm training hard these days and my Mom is always at the track with me. I wish you were here to watch me ride, I rip it up. I love you Mimsie! Love, Jackson Alexander. P.S. You know my Mom named my middle name after you, I'm so glad she did.

MaMa, You were my absolute EVERYTHING! I feel so lost and so empty without you. I will be forever be in my heart. I'm so glad you were able to make it to my wedding. That day was special to me in so many ways, you being there for Mike & I made it extra special. MaMa, I miss you sooooo much! I'll forever be your "iddy, BIDDY, baby".

I feel honored and privileged to have made a friend like Alex. When I met her I immediately liked her, she was sincere, honest, funny and charming, and accepted me for who I am. Covid made it hard to socialize, but it made each visit that much more valuable. I regret not having more time with Alex, I enjoyed every moment she shared with me. My sincerest condolences to Craig and all of her family, I know she was a special person to all of you. I hope you find comfort in happy memories of Alex and the good times you shared. - Eric Gates

People like Alex are rare.  She loved people and had the true gift of gab.  She was interested in your story and had a delicious and warped sense of humor that cracked both you and her up.  There was no topic that she would steer away from and could talk politics, arts, and the funniest life stories.  I am glad of the time I got to spend with Alex and only regret I wasn’t hanging out with her earlier.  

I'm pretty sure this was off of Santa Cruz. She never told me (that I can remember) about this pic. She looks happy, and that's how I want to remember her.
She always called me big bro, even though I was younger. I'm not sure if it was because I was taller, or she just looked up to me.
I will look for more photos. Things are a lot different these days, what with mobile phones having cameras in them.

She was always ready to laugh at one of my corny jokes or bad puns.Alex was a lot of fun to be around, I just wish we had lived closer to one another. Hindsight is always 20/20...

Bill and I just celebrated our 14th anniversary!  I'm so glad you were able to be there with us.  

Alex, you were such an important part of my life.  Thanks for being there when I really needed it.  You made the world a brighter place.  You will be greatly missed.

I still remember the night these two fabulous people first hung out at the Morrissey place.  Alex was so smitten with Craig.  I mentioned Craig was going to come over to my place, and she went all high-school-girl on my talking about how she thought Craig was attractive and would love to spend more time with him.  I told her to come over and hang out with us, which she did.  

They hit it off immediately.  I ended up going to bed and left them down in the living room.  And the rest is history :)

I will always love you guys!
