June 24, 1927 – Nov. 19, 2023
Ann Saylor was born in Alabama and lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Idaho as a small child. When she was in Eighth grade she moved to Los Angeles, California. She pursued Journalism at Los Angeles City College, had three children, then studied mathematics at California State College Los Angeles where she received a Bachelor’s degree and teaching credential. After thirteen years of teaching mathematics at the high school level, she continued her education at California Polytechnic Pomona where she received a Master’s Degree in computer education, thereafter working in the private sector as a technical writer.
Ann overcame a harsh childhood during the depression years to become a much loved teacher, friend, wife and mother. Through perseverance, hard work and careful planning she rose to enjoy a comfortable and rewarding life with her husband, Larry Saylor. Together they lived in southern California, St. George, Utah and Minden, Nevada. When Larry passed in 2004, Ann moved back to California, settling in Scotts Valley and finally at Dominican Oaks Independent Living in Santa Cruz. With her passing, she leaves three children, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
