Bill was born on February 21, 1953, in Bryan, TX to James Linton Robertson, Jr. and Melba Stevenson Robertson.
Bill graduated from George Washington High School in Charleston, WV, in 1971. He then graduated from Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, OH, in 1975. He retired from Cisco Systems in February of 2024 after a 30+ year career encompassing numerous computer engineering roles. He was an enthusiastic computer engineer, contributing to the evolution of computers. Starting at the age of 13, he built a punch-card computer in his family’s basement using government surplus parts. His passion for computers grew from a hobby into a career, where he contributed to the development of modern day technology.
He is survived by his wife, Ieva Zvargulis, daughter Alexandra Zvargulis Robertson, both of Boulder Creek, along with his sister, Lane Robertson Hagberg of Jamestown, NY, as well as several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
As per the family’s wishes, there will be no official memorial event.
He will be remembered for having always brought laughter and dedication wherever he went. His family will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
