Born in South St. Paul Minnesota, Jan was a Kappa Delta and choir singer at her beloved Iowa State. Her first job as a flight attendant allowed her to live in New York and San Francisco, where she savored musical theater. Near Tahoe, she met her future husband Ronald Thomasen. Together they pioneered in the Santa Cruz mountains. Jan worked at Mar Vista School in Aptos, eventually teaching in the computer lab. She enjoyed traveling the world, music, gardening, and staying in touch with life-long friends. She was known for cooking delicious feasts that brought together loved ones. The family would like to thank Hospice of Santa Cruz and Visiting Angels for their care during her final days. She passed peacefully at home in Corralitos. Daughter of Evelyn and Eugene Daubs, she was preceded by her brother Wayne and husband Ron. She is survived by daughter Analynn Patterson, son Scott Thomasen, and grandchildren Devon Hubert, Erik and Siri Thomasen. In lieu of flowers, she asked that donations be made to the donor's favorite charities. Two of her own favorites were KQED/PBS.
