Judy had been diagnosed in 2020 with Lewy Body Dementia and this was the only thing in her wonderful years here on earth that ever slowed her down. Judy was born in Santa Cruz, CA and adopted as an infant by her parents who raised her and her sister Sharon in a loving home in Lodi,CA.
Judy attended college at Santa Clara University where she met her dear husband of 55 years, Alan. Judy and Alan were married in 1968 and adopted their 3 children whom they raised in San Jose, CA.
She became a devout member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints in 1974. Judy served many important callings in her church such as seminary teacher, relief society counselor in the Hollister Spanish Branch, and ward missionary for many years. Judy’s love of teaching overflowed into the use of her degree as a middle school teacher for more than 20 years in the Monterey Peninsula School District and Hollister School District, as well as many years as a substitute teacher in the San Jose Unified School District prior to that.
Judy was always a loving friend who could fill a room with her smile and laugh. She loved to crochet and gifted dozens of baby blankets to children in her life over the years. She was an avid seamstress and made costumes for many plays in her community. She was always willing to share her knowledge of crafts with others.
Judy took being a grandmother to her 6 grandchildren very seriously and was active and involved in their lives. Her most important role was that of a Christlike example. When people think of Judy, they remember her willingness to serve and her loving heart.
Judy is predeceased by her mother Mary Laverne Marrs Nuss, father Leonard Cain, step father Marvin Nuss, and sister Sharon Cain Gunishaw. She was a loving aunt to her niece Mary Cullpepper (Marcus) and her children Marshall, Kris, Kiara, and Nicolas.
