The world forever changed dramatically and joyously on June 12, 1967, for Betty and Paul Ingvaldson as their 2nd son Lee Jay Ingvaldson was born. Waiting at home and wondering what the great fuss was about was big brother Lance. Throughout the years it soon became evident that Lee possessed an independent, unassuming, self-reliant soul coupled with a heart of unmatched kindness, along with a congenial spirit of enormous proportions.
Lee was every mother's dream; cheerful, considerate, and dedicated, never forgetting nor missing an opportunity to have a stunningly beautiful bouquet of flowers promptly delivered to her door for each holiday and special occasion. Regular trips home from either Calif or merely a pitstop on the way home from a business trip was the norm as well as Bettys yearly trip out to California, not to mention their routine daily chats however brief just to say ‘Hello’.
Lee’s idea of downtime meant traveling to far away distant exotic destinations such as Hong Kong, Australia, Cook Islands and more, only to once again find himself arriving home possibly repacking for a business flight halfway around the world.
Lee found true love later in life as it came in a 65-pound package of fur and four feet named Sophie. (a Staffordshire/Boxer mix of beautiful proportion, intellect and charm). Although traditionally called a dog rescue, between us, it actually was a “human” rescue. Undoubtedly, Sophie has been the catalyst of much positivity in her Masters life and has been his ever faithful, loving, loyal companion for the last 15 years.
After graduating from Blooming Prairie in 1985, followed by a couple year stint at the U of M (Minneapolis), Lee began feeling restless and in need of a major change. Consequently, and almost without warning, one day he took off to California (San Diego) in an old red overpacked station wagon never looking back. For the next 35+ years he wholeheartedly loved and embraced California finding living in the big city tremendously energizing alongside his worldwide adventures. Being in amidst of the “melting pot” was where he felt most at home.
Lee’s move to Southern California led to a 10-year career as a Chemist at various Environmental Testing Laboratory businesses, followed by a 3-year stint at Full Spectrum Lab Services where he opened their Seattle service location. Lee began his current Agilent career in 2002 as a Service Engineer, supporting Amgen in Thousand Oaks, CA. Lee’s talent and commitment were both evident. He was well liked by colleagues and customers alike being promoted to West Coast District Service Manager, covering 8 western states (but sadly, not Hawaii). Lee then spent a year working in Sao Paulo Brazil on an International Service Development project. Global travel and exposure to an international business perspective was very stimulating to Lee. He retained a love of travel throughout his career. He returned to the US in the Channel Assist team for Gas Products worldwide. For the past 10 years, Lee has managed the Application Scientists for Liquid Products in the US and delivered managerial oversite of the Agilent Santa Clara Center of Excellence. He worked closely with commercial colleagues, customers and with technical experts from Agilent’s international factories. Lee was known for being fair, unbiased and very involved with his teams and projects.
Shattered and shocked by Lee’s sudden unexpected passing is his mother Betty (Johnson) Ingvaldson, Blooming Prairie, MN; Brother Lance Ingvaldson (Rozann) also of Blooming Prairie, niece Jordan Ingvaldson (Justin) of Austin MN, exceptional friends Kristin Swanson (adopted sister!) and Ken Miller of Santa Cruz, Nancy Larsen of Logan UT, along with wonderful worldwide colleagues and friends too numerous to count.
Our family is grateful for the outpouring of sympathy we have received from his large network of friends and colleagues.
In Celebration of Lee’s life and the peaceful, perfect new home he found on January 25, 2025, he would be immensely delighted for those wishing to honor his memory by donating to any animal Rescue Home or Humane Society. Please feel free to click on the links below to donate.

We take much comfort knowing Lee has joined the company of grandparents and his dear father, Paul Ingvaldson. Thank you to each and every one of you whom made a difference throughout Lee’s lifetime and those of you offering support during this devastating and challenging season.
