Paul was a man of many names because that’s the effect he had on people. When he met you, he made sure you were going to remember him after he left. He was born November 19, 1957, raised in Alviso California; and he was damn proud of it. He was a father, a tio, advanced machinist, self-taught mechanic, storyteller of tall-tales, singer, navy sailor, harmonica player, fisherman, grandpa, husband, cousin, grill master, brother, and friend. He was the man you called for help, advice, and most of all company. A space for Paul at the table, was a space for laughter, food, a little bit of religion followed by car advice, paranormal stories and conspiracy theories, followed by survival-dooms day preparation advice. Paul was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his sisters, Dolores, Virginia, Francis, Louise, Reina, Maria, and brother’s Steven, Esteban, and Pedro, his wife Nikki, stepson Michael, daughters, Molly, Josephine and Felicia Vasquez, and of course, his granddaughter Amelie.
Services for Paul will be held on Saturday, August 31st, 1PM - 3PM, at the Willow Glen Funeral Home, 1039 Lincoln Ave, San Jose, CA 95125. Following the services, the family invites you to join them for food and refreshments from 4PM - 7PM at the Willow Glen American Legion Post 318, 1504 Minnesota Ave, San Jose, CA 95125.
The family asks those in attendance to wear informal attire in Paul’s honor: Raiders fans wear your colors; everyone else wear a t-shirt that will bring laughs or a nod to Paul’s dad jokes.
