Dick, as friends and family referred to him, was born September 27, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan. His father was killed in WWII when Dick was about three years old. His mother remarried and eventually they moved to Southern California, where Dick grew up.
Dick graduated from Canoga Park High School in 1960. While in High School, Dick took up acting. He enjoyed it so much that after high school he auditioned for many roles. He was an extra in a few movies and then auditioned for the lead character of “Tony” in the movie “West Side Story” but he was beat out by the actor who ultimately starred in the role, Richard Beymer.
Dick enlisted in the Air Force in 1962 and eventually was stationed at Castle Air Force Base in Atwater, CA where he met Jenelle Clement. They married about six months later. Dick was deployed to Okinawa during the Vietnam war. He was honorably discharged January 1968, earning several service medals: Vietnam Combat medal and a Purple Heart.
After leaving the Air Force, the family moved back to Merced. Dick worked mainly as an Electrician until he joined the Merced County Sheriff department in 1972. Dick left the Sheriff department in 1978 and did PI and security work for several years. He and Jenelle were Amway distributors for many years.
After Jenelle passed away in 1998, Dick became a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker that’s where he met the second love of his life, Karen Hughes. Dick and Karen have been married almost 20 wonderful years. Dick loved and cherished his whole family, whether by blood or by marriage.
Dick is preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Hazel Radomski and his wife Jenelle Stowe.
Dick leaves his wife Karen Stowe, daughter Kristi Wolf, son Richard Stowe III, step-daughter Amanda Alaniz, step-son Shaughn Hughes, his 6 younger brothers, Don, Steve, Mike, John, Paul, and Bill Radomski, 10 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
We will miss his humor, laughter, dad jokes, and hugs.
The family would like to thank Christie Wilde and Trident Society for the care, compassion, and assistance in taking care of Dick and walking us through this process step-by-step. You are amazing!
A memorial service for Dick will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Faith Community Bible Church, 5890 N. Winton Way, Winton, CA 95388. A reception will follow in the church Fellowship Hall.
