Steve and I were best friends and neighbors from age 4 to age 12. We played together everyday and lived at each other’s houses. I am so sad to learn of his passing. My deepest condolences to Neil and Sue. 

Steve, Paul Schwartz, and I were our own little posse junior and senior years in high school. Steve contacted me while he was in hospice care and we spoke a couple of times, FaceTimed. We hadn’t spoken in a few years, hadn’t seen him since we met in Monterey about  7 or 8 years ago.  He seemed to be at peace and was doing the best he could to control his own destiny. We have family in the Bay Area and I was hoping we would get to reunite again on a future visit.  So sorry we didn’t keep in closer touch these many years.
