Christine Ann Koplos, Age 71 of Alameda California, passed away on December 31, 2019. Beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin & friend, she now rests with her Lord. Christine was the first born of John & Bessie Koplos. She was born and raised in Oakland and she graduated from Skyline High School. Christine’s thoughtfulness & honesty was well known as was her enthusiasm for accuracy and attention to detail on all subjects that interested her.
She worked as a flight attendant for over 40 years. Her interest in flying motivated her to become a licensed private pilot. She also held her instructors license. She was a member of the all-female pilots club called “The Ninety Nines”. Her years of traveling took her all over the world. As she enjoyed learning the customs of many different cultures . Christine had many valued treasures. Her faith in the Lord never wavered and she found peace in her spiritual beliefs. Her privacy and independence she valued dearly. She spent her time in retirement by connecting with family and friends, learning the game “Mahjong”, a volunteering of the Women's Auxiliary Board annual White Elephant Sale and perfecting her photography skills. Above all else, Christine was all about the Oakland Athletics. She attended every home game for decades and collected anything “Oakland A’s”. They brought her so much joy. She knew the stats of every player and even thought of them as family. She never lost faith in her A’s.
A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at 11:30a.m. in the Richmond Room at the Greek Ascension Cathedral in Oakland.
