Mike will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 43 years, Elida; his three daughters, Jennifer (Marcus), Cassandra, and Leanne (Tom); his grandsons, Devin and Anthony; his siblings, Sylvia (Charlie) and Richard (Lorraine); as well as numerous other family members and friends. He was predeceased by his loving parents, Luz and Celia.
Mike served in the U.S. Air Force for six years, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and received an honorable discharge at the end of his service.
Mike was very easy-going and had a kind heart. He loved to meet new people and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Whenever he had the chance, he enjoyed a quick trip to Reno and sharing his stories with those he met along the way. No matter where he was, everyone who met Mike loved him.
Mike loved his family unconditionally. He lovingly called his wife “Toots” and would frequently say to each of his daughters, “You know you’re my favorite, right?” They would respond, “You say that to all of us,” and he would laugh. He was a great husband, father, and grandfather. He will forever be in our hearts.
Mike requested to be cremated. As a Military Veteran, his ashes will be placed in acolumbarium niche at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California, with a plaque to commemorate his life. Details regarding a Celebration of Mike’s Life are forthcoming. The family kindly asks to withhold inquiries until these details are confirmed.
