BettyEm Maxine Myers, 81, of Santa Clara, passed away peacefully at home on October 22, 2025.
Born in Portland, Maine, the eldest daughter of three girls. Through her father’s time in the Navy, BettyEm spent her younger years traveling the world before settling down in Santa Clara, making it her home for more than 50 years.
Through her skilled crafting she founded BMY Crafts allowing her to pursue her passions in a myriad of arts and crafts including painting, embroidery, sewing, stamping, die cutting, and embossing. Her creativity was already obvious in the kitchen through cultural meals and celebratory baking, furthering her reputation as an excellent cook and generous hostess.
She is survived by her husband Howard, her devoted, loving partner of 38 years; son John Luce and wife Lynn; grandchildren Emily Luce, Samantha Luce; Maxwell Calehuff, Mitch Calehuff, and Nicole Ferguson; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Jamie Calehuff.
A memorial service will be held at The American Legion Hall, 958 Homestead Rd, Santa Clara at 11:00 AM on Sunday, November 16, 2025, with a reception to follow.
