David Harry Paulson, age 85 of San Jose, California went to be with the Lord on January 15, 2025. He was born on May 5, 1939 in Sacramento, California to Nels Harry and Nancy Helen Paulson, and was married to his high school sweetheart Gail (Moulton) Paulson until she passed away in April 2002. He is survived by his son Brian Paulson and his wife Christi and his daughter Cheryl (Paulson) Bramlett and her husband Wes. He had 6 grandchildren: Irina Tamara, Grace, Noah, Ian, and Nathanial and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Ken, his sister Diane, and his sister Linda’s family. David was known for his positive attitude and was devoted to engaging with and serving his family.
He earned a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from UC Berkeley and then moved to San Jose and worked as an engineer and manager at IBM until he retired at age 53. After retiring, he and Gail did a lot of traveling and he began volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity. He actively served in his church in many roles but was most passionate about Christian Education - leading Adult Sunday School classes, Bible Studies, and other groups. He loved the outdoors and was frequently camping, hiking, and backpacking and visited parks in almost every state.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Good Samaritan United Methodist Church in Cupertino, CA
