Diane Bradley passed away on February 13, 2025. She was 79. Diane passed peacefully in the presence of family. Diane was born in 1945 to Tom Chambers and Dorothy Ryan. She is a Bay Area native and lived in the Bay Area all her life. She was born in Berkeley and lived there for over 40 years. Diane was a free spirit who reveled in her independence and freedom of thought and expression. She touched the lives of many people, who would often remark they had never met anyone quite like her. Her unabashed and often unfiltered honesty was a breath of fresh air to many people, who after talking with her felt more empowered in their own lives to be their true self and follow their own true path.
Diane was an exceptional student, achieving high marks at many educational institutions all while raising two children. Her education culminated with earning her Masters in Nursing from San Francisco State with high honors. Diane had an incredible work ethic, working multiple jobs for many years to support her children. Later, she
married the love of her life , fireman Russell Bradley. After Russell passed, Diane traveled to Egypt and became a huge dog lover. She was an enthusiastic supporter of many civic organizations, including the Jack Russell Terrier Club of America. Diane was a one-of-a-kind person who touched the lives of so many and made them feel loved and appreciated. She will be greatly missed.
Diane was preceded in death by her husband Russell Bradley, and parents Tom Chambers and Dorothy Ryan. She is survived by her daughter Leah, son Sean, sister Holly, son-in-law Dan, daughter-in-law Caryn, cousin Jan, grandchildren Chet, Mose, Cody, and Fiona, and a long list of friends including Cheryl Pattison, Ellen and Tom Konnert, and Judy Spelman. She will be interred at a location to be determined at a later date by family. A memorial celebration of her life will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at the North Berkeley Senior Center, Gooseberry Room, in Berkeley at 1901 Hearst Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Jack Russell Terrier Club of America.
