Maria Aida Furtado

Our beloved mother, Maria Aida Alvernaz Furtado, passed away peacefully on August 29th, at the age of 75. Born on October 14, 1950, in Cedros, Faial, Portugal, Maria Aida carried the spirit of her island home throughout her life—steadfast, generous, and full of quiet strength.

She leaves behind her children, their spouses, and her cherished grandchildren, all of whom were the heart of her world. Her love, guidance, and unwavering support shaped generations, and her presence will be deeply missed.

Maria Aida was preceded in death by her husband, Tomas Francisco Furtado, with whom she shared a life of partnership and family. We take comfort in knowing they are reunited once again.

Her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured, the traditions she preserved, and the kindness she offered so freely. She will forever remain in our hearts.
