Paul J. Olejniczak

Paul J. Olejniczak (Oles), age 77, of San Jose, California passed away from natural causes on Friday, May 12, 2023. Paul was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He attended North Catholic High School, Penn State University, and Duquesne University. He graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology and a minor in astronomy, and went on to work as a Program Director at the Buhl Planetarium and the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh, PA for over thirty years. He earned a Master of Arts/Science Degree in Education. He was a much beloved teacher at Allegheny Community College in Pittsburgh, PA and De Anza College in Cupertino, CA.

His passion for learning and teaching about the universe was amazing and inspiring. His wonderful, zany sense of humor, and his energy and enthusiasm were enjoyed by all, but especially by his family, friends, and students. His financial generosity changed lives. Paul had a green thumb and enjoyed growing plants of all kinds, had a beautiful aquarium, and was an avid sports fan.

Paul was the son of Theodore J. and Hermine Olejniczak, brother of Cynthia Mesaros (Thomas) of CA, Daniel Oles (Mary) of VA, and Michelle Joyce (Kevin) PA . Paul had five nieces, one nephew, four great nephews, and two great nieces. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Paul believed that the heavens declare the glory of God and was a firm believer in Jesus Christ.
