(October 5, 1931 – May 11, 2025)
Verle Serface passed quietly on May 11, 2025, while napping under the sun on his patio lounge. At 93, he maintained an active social life, often lunching with friends or attending functions at his church. He adored storytelling and voraciously read cowboy novels. At a young age, he moved from his birthplace – Sterling, Colorado – to Milwaukie, Oregon, residing there until 1955, when he and his wife Lorraine migrated to the San Francisco Bay Area, where he began a lifelong career in the moving and storage industry. In 1964, he and his growing family settled in Campbell, California, where he stayed until his passing.
He is survived by five sons, a daughter, and an army of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. His children include Tom Serface of Eugene, Oregon; George Serface of Campbell, California; Jim Serface of Woodbridge, California; Kim Costa of Springfield, Oregon; Chuck Serface of Campbell, California; and Scott Serface of Vacaville, California. Although he disliked the spotlight, he owned every gathering he attended, charming everyone with his bright smile and friendly demeanor. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
