Richard James Allen Jr.

Richard "Rich" James Allen, Jr, was born on August 1, 1943, in Long Beach, Ca and died on February 20, 2025, in Huntington Beach, Ca. Rich was preceded in death by his parents Richard James Allen Sr and Mary Veronica Allen. He is survived by his brother, Robert “Bob” Allen (Jeannette) and two sisters, Kathleen "Kathi" Howe (Ken) and Barbara Breiter (Dave). Rich had three sons, Richard "Rick" James Allen III (Nancy), Christopher Vernon Allen (Marci), Michael Scott Allen (Carrie), four grandchildren, Kyle Richard, Aidan Patrick, Ashley Nichole and Brianna Christine, one great grandson, Jason Richard, three, nephews (Jeff, David, and Keith) and one niece (Judi), five grandnieces and two grandnephews and cousins.

Rich worked for TRW and Northrop Grumman in El Segundo for over 38 years keeping our great nation safe. He volunteered at the Aquarium of the Pacific for over 15 years as a presentation diver and dive team leader. Rich was very active, he loved to travel, SCUBA dive, play tennis, and fast pitch softball on his TRW team. For many years he was a referee for AYSO Soccer in Huntington Beach and an Umpire for Seaview Little League, also in Huntington Beach. He loved to coach his sons in soccer and baseball. He loved to watch and attend NASCAR races as well. One of his favorite activities was to drive his boat the Hot Tamale. His love for water sports was amazing. He could get anyone up on water skis. His favorite places to water ski were Lake Mead in Nevada and Bass Lake in Northern California. Rich also loved to play Cribbage. He taught so many people to play and loved the card game.

Rich was the life of the party. He loved to throw Christmas parties at his home in Irvine. He had so much fun planning the parties and opening his house up to all his friends and family.

Rich will truly be missed by all who knew him.
