

Barry Lee Eckenroth passed away on August 14, 2026 in Wildomar, California. He was born on September 11, 1946 in Reading, PA. He was the son of C. Stanley and Ardell Florence Eckenroth (Welsh) of Terre Hill, PA. He was a 1964 graduate of Garden Spot High School. After high school, he studied electronics at RETS school in Philadelphia. He joined the USAF reserves. He was a computer processor for Digital Equipment Corp. in Maynard, Massachusetts. He spent his spare time getting pilot ratings and his first wife, Peggy, moved to the bay area of CA where he attended San Jose State University, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. He made lifelong pilot friends starting with Swift-Aire, Hughes Air West, (a memorable year flying for Saudia Air in Saudia Arabia), Republic Airlines, and North West Airlines (now Delta) where he retired as a Captain on DC-10, 2006.
Barry married Sharon (Wharton Misemer) in Mesa AZ on April, 6, 1991, then they moved to Murrieta, CA in 1999 where they were members of Bear Creek Golf Club. They had a Lake amphibian plane that they enjoyed every summer in Lake Tahoe and other places. He also made good friends playing his sport of choice, tennis. He was known for his play list of rock and roll and his love of 1966 Chevy corvettes.
Barry enjoyed friends and family parties. He had the nickname Bear with friends, grand and great grand children.
Surviving are: wife, Sharon, step son Douglas Misemer, brother, Charles Eckenroth, sisters, Deidre Bosley, and Cindy McElwaine. Predeceased, step son, Trenton Misemer.
