

Charlie was born on February 12, 1953, in Pineville, Louisiana, to Clarence Sr. and Atlar Smith. He was one of five children and grew up surrounded by family in Alexandria, Louisiana.
After high school, Charlie proudly served in the U.S. Navy. Soon after, he married his childhood sweetheart and the love of his life, Dianna, in Los Angeles, California. Their love story began as teenagers in Alexandria and blossomed into a lifelong partnership built on love, laughter, and devotion.
Charlie lived life with curiosity and a spirit of adventure. He embraced new experiences, whether practicing karate, skiing, or sailing. One of his favorite memories was sailing from the California coast to Catalina Island.
He was a devoted husband and a loving father, who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Clarence Smith, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Dianna Smith, and daughter, Kristy Simpkins.
