Gerald “Jake” “Jerry” Jacobs passed away in his sleep after a long illness. He passed away 1 week after turning 78 on August 23, 2020. Jerry is survived by his wife, Deborah Jacobs, 2 sisters, 1 brother, 2 children, Jose and Kathy Jacobs, and 9 grandchildren. He was loved by many. A truly remarkable man who kept friends for life. If you ever had the chance to meet and talk, you would be a better person for having met him.
Music was his passion, rock and roll to soul, to the latest and greatest. He always kept up with the times and could talk music with anyone. Politics and Labor rights, Civil Rights, get out the Vote. Jerry was very active with the UAW, spending most of 40 years heavily involved in Union activities, and Human Rights. Politics was another passion, and his home and family. He loved to travel and talk with other people, we had so much fun wherever we went. He had a talent for storytelling.. He was my soulmate, I am a better person because of this man and our life together. He promised me 20 years when we met and fell in love. He gave me 25. I miss him everyday.
A truly courageous, strong and unforgettable man. Please post any pictures or memories here.
