Jonathan Peter Woods, affectionately known as Jon, passed away on August 29, 2024, at the age of 38, in his home in Highland, CA. Jon was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, and his faith was a guiding force throughout his life. Born on September 11, 1985, Jon was known for his amazing smile, infectious laugh, and incredible gift for storytelling.
Jon loved playing guitar, listening to music, riding bikes, solving puzzles, and cheering for his beloved San Francisco 49ers. He cherished his family and friends deeply and treasured the time spent with them in the beauty of Yosemite National Park. Jon also had a deep love for animals. His love for Subway sandwiches, fried chicken, and Jack in the Box always brought a smile to those who knew him. He shared a special bond with his Aunt Rebecca Anne Harper and Uncle Donald Wayne Harper, with whom he lived for a time.
Jon is survived by his parents, Kevin Martin Woods and Maxine Aragón, and his siblings: Joshua Paul Woods, Jennipher Marie (Woods) Jess and her husband Tyler Anthony Jess, Matthew David Aragón, and Jessie Inez Aragón. He was a loving uncle to his niece, Soraya Kazuko Jess, whom he adored deeply. He is also survived by his grandmothers, Carole Ann Woods and Inez Kazuko Aragón, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly. Jon was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Lionel Phillip Woods Jr. and Domingo Aragón. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
All are welcome to his memorial service which will be held to celebrate Jon’s life on October 26, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church, 28355 Base Line St, Highland, CA 92346. Service is to be held at 11:00 a.m. Reception is to be held at 12:00 p.m.
