
Lawrence E. Donville passed away on July 6th, 2026 at San Antonio Regional Hospital in Upland, CA. He was born on April 14th, 1943 in Mimico, Ontario Canada to his/her parents, Mary and Phillip Donville. He was one of six children. He was chosen to attend St. Michael’s Cathedral School to be a part of the boys’ choir in Toronto, Canada.
After high school, he started an apprenticeship in the Steam Fitting trade and continued that field until his retirement. He worked on many special projects such as expanding the Budweiser Brewery in Van Nuys, California as well as The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario Canada. He went on to work in California Men’s Colony in Tehachapi, CA. He eventually transferred and retired as Supervisor from California Men’s Colony in San Luis Obispo, CA where he also was a volunteer firefighter at the prison. He enjoyed working with everyone and everyone enjoyed working with him.
Lawrence married the love of his life, Victoria Rose Knapp October 10, 1964 at St. Leo’s Church in Mimico, Ontario Canada. . They met while in high school and got married shortly after. They spent many years in Toronto performing musical theater together and connected over their passion for music and singing as well as performing. They continued this for many decades.
Lawrence was a dedicated husband and loving father. He had two sons, Kevin and Craig and one daughter Laura. He also had four Grandchildren.
In his spare time, he thoroughly enjoyed Cooking for his loved ones and reading. He also enjoyed sparking up a conversation with just about anybody.
Lawrence will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in passing by his three brothers John, Noel and Basil Donville; his Mother Mary and Father Phillip Donville, his Daughter Laura Dollahite and his precious dog Duffy.
