Megan - White

Megan White passed away on September 21, 2025 in Palm Desert, California. She was born on February 27, 1939 in Pasadena, California to her parents, George McKinley Cook and Marie Adino Sommerville. She was the youngest of four children. Her siblings were George Cook, Charles Cook and Marie Cook. Megan was given the name Avis Leiloni Cook at birth, but changed her name to Megan as an adult. Her nickname as a child and youth was “Cookie”. She was a competitive skater in the 1940’s and early 1950’s and held several National Titles.

Megan married Gary Lynn White on July 22, 1964 in Duarte, California. They met while Gary was serving in the United States Navy.

Megan was a loving wife and the mother of three children, Cari Lin (White) Jacobs, Michael White and Kelly Marie White, who died at birth.

Megan enjoyed animals, travel, reading and home decorating.

Megan will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Gary and her children Cari and Michael. She has seven grandchildren and their spouses, and sixteen great-grandchildren.
