A graduate of the University of Washington, she taught for several years before finding her niche in real estate. She met and married Bill Thompson and they moved to California where they bought an equipment dealership, which they ran together for a decade. After Bill passed in 1999, Nancy moved to Hemet to be near her parents.
She embraced the Hemet community becoming involved in the Unity Valley Church, as well as the Hemet Concert Association, Valley Beautiful Gardening Club, the Valley Wide Kayak Club and the Green Coalition of the San Jacinto Valley, the Sage Society. Nancy had made Southern California her home.
Nancy is survived by her Aunt, Majorie Faucett (nee Austin) her brother, Lindsay Austin and his wife Kirsten Austin, two nieces Natalie Plecque (David), Jennifer Fresco (Zach), her nephew Ivo Austin (Karina) as well as their children and many, many cousins.
In lieu of flowers, in the spirit of generosity that Nancy was known for consider making a donation to Unity Valley Church, The Hemet Concert Association or the Green Coalition of the San Jacinto Valley.
