Sande Kay Kidwell Batten went home to be with the Lord on October 20, 2019. She passed peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family. Sande was a strong believer in Jesus Christ and faithfully did her Bible study online every day with Pastor Jack Hibbs. She was born in Indianapolis on July 9, 1941, to Albert and Fleda Kidwell. She moved to California where she met and married Elwood J. Batten and became a stepmother to Karen, Paula, Jill, and Bridget. She was a meat wrapper by trade. She enjoyed reading, watching the Olympics and spending time with family, especially on family game days.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her younger sister Kathy Mizysak. She is survived by her sisters Donna Bugg, Betty Kidwell and Trina Horton; her son Jay Batten and daughter-in-law Donna, granddaughter Christina Harrell, her husband Jay Harrell, and great-grandchildren Sara J., Justin and Jordan Harrell: niece and nephew Carol and Emerson Long (all living in North Carolina); daughter Pegeen Stanton and son-in-law Tom, granddaughter Courtney and her husband Fred Farris, granddaughter Heather Stanton, her nieces and nephews: Pam Rasmussen, Mike Kidwell, Shanlynne Greer, Gary Greer, Brian Roberg, James Mizysak and Chris Mizysak along with many loving great-nieces and great-nephews.
Sande was a kind and loving soul and will be immensely missed by all who loved her.
