Steven Jordan Brooks

Steven grew up in Reseda and Simi Valley CA-graduating from Simi Valley High School. He then attended California State University Northridge earning a degree in Philosophy.

He had numerous careers during his lifetime working in the music industry, insurance industry and finally as a teacher in the L A. Unified School District which is where he retired from. He wrote a book based on his experience in the music industry "Hollywood-The Band".

He was an accomplished flute and piccolo player, playing in numerous concert and marching bands throughout his life, most recently he was a member of The Desert WInds Freedom Band in Palm Springs.

His hobbies included attending concerts, plays and musical theatre. He also loved the outdoors, hiking, camping and exploring. He enjoyed traveling the world and of course a love for music.

He is survived by his sister Lu Ann Brooks of Tampa,Florida, Aunts and cousins in CA and North Carolina and many friends.

Predeceased by his father Everett L. Brooks and mother Frances J. Brooks.

A Celebration of Life was held on Aug. 10th at his home in Cathedral City, CA.
