Gordon was born to Eric Siegfried Linden and Charlotte Mary (Clark) Linden in Milliken, Colorado on January 20, 1936. The 2nd of five children, Pat, Dennis, Lois, and Kathy. He was raised on several farms in and around Gilcrest, Colorado. He learned to drive a tractor at the age of 6. At Gilcrest High School, he was active in sports, school plays and the FFA eventually graduating in 1953. He then attended the University of Colorado graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1957. Upon graduation, he took a job with the Los Angeles County Flood Control District earning his Professional Engineering license. At this time he also met the love of his life, Phyllis Marie Holt. Gordon and Phyllis were married in 1960 and had two children, Gary (Keiko Fujigaya) and Christine (Steve White). They have one grandchild, Keita Linden. The family moved to the Bay Area in 1964 as Gordon trained and became a Data Base Administrator working on large main frame computers eventually retiring from Raychem Corp. in 1998. Upon retirement, Gordon and Phyllis moved to Nevada City, California and eventually to Rocklin.
Gordon loved his family and friends and learned to ski with his children after the age of 40. He skied throughout North America and Europe. In addition to skiing, Gordon and Phyllis traveled throughout the States, Europe, Asia, and Central America. They particularly enjoyed their trips to Hawaii and the Caribbean with their dear friends. Other passions included reading, playing bridge, attending Sierra Presbyterian Church, and gatherings with numerous friends.
Gordon was proceeded in death by his parents and 3 siblings. He is survived by his loving family and numerous friends. Gordon will be missed by all whom he met and laughed at his sense of humor.
