Harmon B. Green Jr. was born on May 26, 1932, in San Francisco as the eldest child of Marjorie and Harmon Green Sr. He graduated from Lowell High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in business from UC Berkeley in 1954. The following year, he was drafted into the Army, serving as a Lieutenant to the Commanding General in Berlin, Germany until 1958.
On April 26, 1958, Harmon, known by all as Ben married Nancy Menhennet, starting a loving partnership that brought them two children: Ken Green and Susan Barr. Ben enjoyed nearly fifty years as an executive in the Food Industry and later dedicated ten years to the Pet Food Industry.
Ben placed family at the center of his life, cherishing his roles as husband, father, and grandfather. His passion for travel carried him across North America, Europe, South America, and Asia. Lake Tahoe held a particular place in his heart; a love sparked during his college summers. Later, he and his brother Charlie bought a cabin in Carnelian Bay, which became a treasured gathering spot for the family over forty years.
After the loss of his wife in 2021, Ben is survived by his two children, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, his brother Charlie, and sister-in-law Carol Green.
