

Morris G. Petersen, 68, passed away on July 3, 2026, in California.
He was born on August 17, 1957, in Utah to his loving parents, Francis and Ora Petersen. As the youngest of six children, Morris grew up surrounded by the love of a large family. From an early age, he learned the value of hard work while helping on his family’s turkey farm in Utah.
Shortly after graduating from high school, Morris married his first love, Jean. Together they welcomed two children, Jodi and Justin, and began building their family.
Morris later moved to California, where he dedicated many years of his life to working as a truck driver. He spent countless hours on the open road, traveling the highways and seeing much of the country. Throughout his life, Morris was known for his strong work ethic, resilience, and unwavering love for his family. His life’s journey included three marriages. During his final marriage to Sharon, he welcomed three stepsons into his family before the marriage later ended in divorce.
Morris is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Jodi (Phillip) Zlomke, along with her children, Devin (Laleska) Zlomke and Rylie Zlomke (Braxton Clement); his oldest sister, Faye Boyer; his three stepsons; ten additional cherished grandchildren; his four beloved great-grandchildren; and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews across Utah and California who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Justin B. Petersen; his parents, Francis and Ora Petersen; his brothers, Floyd and Lyle; his sisters, Sandra and Mary; and his first wife, Jean, the mother of his children.
Morris will be remembered for his dedication to his work, the love he had for his family, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew him.
A celebration of Morris’s life and legacy will be held at a later date.
