Nancy Marie Sabin passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025 at the age of 86. She was born in Idaho to Ora and Frances Blair. Nancy was the youngest of four children and grew up on the Northern California coast. She lived in “a big white house on top of a big hill”. One memory was of riding her bike up and down the street in front of the Carson Mansion in Eureka. Nancy was always ready to tell stories of her amazing childhood. She would spend summer vacations in Sacramento with her amazing Call and Green family relatives. Nancy moved to Sacramento and attended Norte Del Rio High School. She was active in school government and dramatic theater. After graduating, she worked as a Telephone Operator for Bell Telephone until she met Warren at a dinner party. They married and settled in Citrus Heights, California to start their family and wonderful life. Together they had a son, a daughter, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Nancy was known as Grammy to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and as Nanny to the children of family friends. Nancy nurtured and cared for her family, friends, and the young people in the community. She served in the Parent Teacher Association, served as a Cub Scout Den Mother, a Junior Bowling League Instructor, a Girls Softball Coach, and other organizations in the community. She was involved in many hobbies; including macrame, painting, ceramics, camping, gardening, ping-pong, reading, and cooking. She was an accomplished amateur bowler with State tournament trophies to her name. But Nancy was best known for her gift of storytelling; including her spirited and energetic charade performances with family and friends, delightful performances of her famous “Fig Newton Dance”, and her amazing ad-lib performances on cruise ships during talent night. Nancy was an amazing person, wife, mother, grammy, and nanny, and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
