Norman John Sieger, age 98, of Citrus Heights, California passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022.
Our beloved Dad, Norman, passed from this earth surrounded by loving family on December 7, 2022. Dad was born in Washington, Missouri in 1924 and was the oldest son of Fannie and Erwin Sieger. He is predeceased by his younger brother Johnny. Norman joined the Army at eighteen in 1942 and fought in World War II in Italy and southern France as a member of the famous joint USA and Canada First Special Service Force. After the War he met and married the love of his life, Renate. They were married for seventy-two years. Norman served in the Army with distinction for twenty-nine years, then settled in Northern Virginia. He served in three wars- WWII, Korea and Vietnam. One of his favorite hobbies was pistol shooting and he enjoyed many years as part of US Army pistol teams and as a member of the Fairfax Rod and Gun Club. A range at the Fairfax club is named in his honor. Dad loved photography and taking vacations with his family. He loved giving hugs, telling jokes and dancing. He is deeply missed by his wife Renate, his sons Scott and Michael, daughters-in-law Debbie and Victoria, as well as his grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends and family. A private graveside service will occur at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon at a future date
