Roger Allan Crown

Roger Allan Crown, born on July 22, 1952, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on August 30, 2026. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, Roger's life was a testament to love, dedication, and faith. Roger was the cherished son of Joseph Walter Crown and K. Margaret Crown. He was predeceased by his loved ones, Shelly, Verna, and Raymond, whom he always held dear in his heart. He is survived by his devoted wife, Chris, with whom he shared 50 wonderful years of marriage. Their journey together began on February 13, 1976, when they were united in marriage in the Salt Lake Temple. Together, they raised six children, Traci-Michael, Angela, Nicholas-Ashley, Kimberly-Eddy, Jamie-Dave, and Staci-Johnny, fostering a home filled with love, joy, and laughter. Roger's family was his greatest pride and joy. He was a loving grandfather to Kyndall, Avery-Collin, Hunter, Owen, Peyton, Benson, Marleigh, Amelia, Mateo, Olivia, and Miabella, and a fond great-grandfather to Dakota, with another great-grandchild due in December. An alumnus of Granite High School, Roger graduated in June 1970. He furthered his education at the University of Utah, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History, which laid the foundation for a life of learning and curiosity. Roger dedicated 35 years of his professional life as a hostler and short haul driver at Consolidated Freightways, retiring in 2005. Not one to rest on his laurels, he later embarked on a career as a real estate agent, helping families find homes to create their own memories. In his younger years, Roger earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He was also an avid skier, a passion he enjoyed immensely. As his children grew, he found joy in camping, attending their sports events, recitals, and other activities, always the supportive father. Later in life, he took pleasure in cooking Sunday dinners, attending plays, and caring for his grandchildren. A devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Roger served in many capacities, including as a missionary serving in the New Zealand North Mission, Bishop, High Counselor, and Temple Worker. His love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ was evident in his selfless nature, his humor, and the love he showed to all around him. He truly was a great example of living a life of service and compassion. A funeral to honor Roger's life will be held on September 18, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 1155 Liberty Lane, Lincoln, CA 95648. A Celebration of Life party will be held at the same location, at 6pm on 9/18/2026. We kindly ask for an RSVP to the Celebration of Life to Staci Crown. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to a charity of your choice, honoring Roger's generous spirit. Roger's legacy of love and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
