Colleen Davis of Santee, California, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at the age of 81. She was born on August 24, 1943 in Salt Lake City Utah where she grew up with her brother and parents. She was active in her church and popular in high school.
She moved to San Diego, California in 1966 and began working as a secretary at Solar Turbines, a world-wide producer of mid-range industrial gas turbines used for power generation until resigning around 1985. She started a new career at San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) in 1989 as a document processor and retired in 2009. She was actively involved in dancing at any chance she could get, right up until 2024. Dancing was always her passion. She always worked hard and was known for being a giver by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren lovingly called her “Granda”. She had an infectious laugh, a warm smile, and the most beautiful blue eyes ever. She gave with her whole heart, never hesitating to put others first, even when it was difficult. She gave her loved ones wonderful memories, an incredible example of stewardship, giving, the best work ethic, and much more. She was fiercely devoted and quietly strong, while facing every challenge with grit and grace – stubborn in the best way, never backing down when it came to caring for those she loved, or letting them know what she wanted. Her love was steady, her hands always busy, and her heart always open to those she knew and loved, and even those she just knew needed help. Her legacy of giving and hard work lives on in her children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father, Kimball Davis, and her mother Matilda Davis (Carter). She is survived by her brother Carter Davis, her children Virgil R. Casias Jr., (Caryn), Kari B. Casias , and Thomas R. Casias. She is survived by her 9 grandchildren, Robin M. Casias (Veronica), Geoffrey M. Casias (Athena), Thomas G Casias-Kent; Christina M. Ybarra (Michael), Sophia M.
