Dr Ann Marie Henrichs

Dr. Ann Marie Henrichs ( Anna Marie Heinrichsmeyer) passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the age of 99. A pioneering physician, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother, Ann leaves behind a legacy defined by resilience, compassion, and a lifelong commitment to women’s health.

Born in 1926 in St. Louis, Missouri, Ann grew up in a proud German Lutheran home with her parents, Martha Bernthal and Martin Heinrichsmeyer, and brother Martin. She attended Cleveland High School before pursuing higher education at a time when few women entered the medical profession.

Ann earned her undergraduate degree from Washington University, where she was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority, and continued on to complete her medical degree at Washington University School of Medicine, graduating in 1950.

Her medical training took her across the country, with residencies in New York, Miami, and at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. She married Herbert Oman in 1956, and together they raised two daughters, Marti and Juliet.

Ann began her professional career as a surgeon and OB-GYN with Kaiser Permanente in Redwood City before relocating to Southern California in 1970 to join Kaiser La Mesa. In 1975, she settled in Marina del Rey and established a successful private practice serving patients at Saint John’s and Santa Monica Hospitals. She retired in 1990 after decades of dedication to her field and her patients.

Retirement did nothing to slow her spirit. Ann became active in the League of University Women, explored the world through travel, and embraced her most treasured role—spoiling her grandchildren.

Ann is survived by her daughters, Marti Rosenberg and Juliet Oman; her son-in-law, Adam Rosenberg; and her four beloved grandchildren: Amanda and Alex Rosenberg, and Kevin and Christopher Bobak. She will be remembered for her trailblazing career, her sense of humor, and the deep love she held for her family.

Her life’s work and her warmth will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.
