Joan Marie Smith

Joan was seventy six and a lifetime resident of the Warner Springs area. We lost Joan May 6, 2026 in a fatal car accident at Moretti’s Junction.

She is survived by her husband of sixty years Michael Smith and her three children Tom, Kim, and Mike. Joan was also the loving grandmother and great grandmother of six grandkids and one great grandkid.

With special thanks to her lifetime friend Donna Taylor. Joan was a member of the Mesa Grande Indian Reservation and had deep roots in the local community. Her great grandfather was a Dutch pioneer who ran the Wilson’s store at Buena Vista on the Warner Ranch. Her great aunt Ruffina Paroli had a homestead in Culp Valley in the early nineteen hundreds.
