Jack was my companion, lover, husband and rock starting in 1979. He was smart, funny and generous the entire time! He had quite a life, as my sister-in-law wrote in her earlier statement. I'm so grateful he chose me to spend a majority of his time with. He will be irreplaceable in my heart!

His two daughters, Kim and Robin, and I will forever love and miss him!

My favorite song ever — and the one that Jack sang in the play Damn Yankees — is “Heart.”  “You gotta have heart, miles & miles & miles of heart…”  And he did.

Putting these words on paper is my way of helping me to live with the loss of my brother, Jack. Though we lived on opposite coasts, we spoke by phone endlessly—several times a week. No topic was too small or too large. Every bit of conversation mattered, and those talks became an essential, deeply fulfilling bond between us. I always marveled at how smart he was; it felt as though he simply knew everything. We laughed so hard most of the time.

Now I carry on those conversations in my head. I talk to Jack to share my experiences and thoughts, keeping him close. I imagine him in Heaven, reunited with the friends, relatives, and beloved animals he cherished so deeply. Holding onto that image is the only relief I have.

Jack had an extraordinary childhood, in New York.  He began his acting career at just five years old during the Golden Age of Broadway, appearing in productions such as Peter Pan and Damn Yankees. He acted, danced, sang, modeled, played the piano, and loved playing the guitar right up until his final days. Jack had an unmistakable zest for life and a determination to make every moment count.

Throughout high school, he traveled to many countries and even rode a camel—always eager to experience everything life had to offer. Looking back, he would often say he “would never change a thing.”

Jack loved his friends and family completely. His greatest wish was for people to live fully and be happy, never letting the grass grow under their feet. He always had a long list of things to do; he was never finished. Projects followed him wherever he went, a reflection of his endless stamina and drive.

Jack will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and always loved by everyone whose life he touched, including his beautiful family he leaves behind.
