Lynette Josephine DeLeon-McCormick left this earth on January 11, 2022. 80 years old, she was born October 11, 1941 in Los Angeles, CA. Born and raised in Los Angeles and its surrounding communities, first on Atlantic Street and later to Montebello, across from a golf-course. There she found, cleaned and re-sold golfballs to golfers as they walked to the 3rd-hole. Always happy for a little extra pocket money.
She graduated from Ramona Convent High School in 1959 and was married later that year. In the early years of that marriage she worked as a Bob’s Big Boy carhop. She had plenty of fun stories to share from that experience. That marriage also produced her two daughters, Lori and Teri. She wore several other hats during her professional years including realtor and escrow office, clerk at the courthouse, furniture retail, and finally a childcare business in partnership with her daughter, Teri. However, her most pleasing dedication to task was caring for her mother, when that time came and to be available to help with the responsibilities needed for her grandchildren with full time working parents.
She was a good friend to many and truly cared for people, with her warm heart, generous nature, and quick laugh. She had a smile that could light a room. She loved babies, the beach, music and laughter, and a warm day filled with flowers, sunshine, and butterflies.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lionel and Josephine DeLeon, grandparents, Dan and Midge, Rudy and Dora, and her husband, Timothy J McCormick. She loved all her relatives and enjoyed listening to their stories. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Lori and John, Teri and Bill. Her brother, Mark, “sis” Dee, and niece, Nicki. She is also survived by her grandchildren Sarah, Will, and Ashley. And great-grandchildren, Peyton and Avery. She leaves behind many friends, some who call her mom and others who call her grammy. She is terribly missed. As she would like, love and prayers to all.
