Margaret Henrietta Smith

Margaret “Peggy” Henrietta Smith passed peacefully on April 3, 2026, at the age of 84. She was born on February 9, 1942 to Edward and Beatrice Mundy of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1967, Peggy and family moved to Southern California and lived in Los Angeles and Orange counties, and most recently she resided in Carlsbad, California.

A loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, she leaves behind three children -- son Ron and wife Mary and daughters Jeanine and Lori; four grandchildren -- Sara and husband Travis, Matt and significant other Marissa, Sam and significant other Judy, and Jason and wife Rachel; and sister Donna, nephew Jack and wife Jenny and children Ryan and Krista, and niece Susie and husband Steve and children Steven and Christopher.

After working her way up to Vice President during her 30+ years banking career, Peggy retired in 1999 and spent time engaged in her favorite activities -- spending time with her immediate and extended family, socializing with friends, and enjoying keno, bingo and bowling. We already miss her caring and humor, but she will always remain in the hearts of her family and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on June 23, 2026 at 9:30 AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 27231 Aliso Viejo Parkway, Aliso Viejo CA, find map under "Services" below; to be followed by a private interment/commital (for family only) to begin promptly at 11:00 AM at El Toro Memorial Park, 25752 Trabuco Road, Lake Forest.
