Michael Joseph Comer

Michael Joseph Comer of Irvine, CA passed away on June 23, 2026 at the age of 58. He was born on 3/31/68 in Georgia and was raised in Houston, TX. Though he lived in many cities over his lifetime, Irvine was his home and Eagle River, Wisconsin was his heart.

Mike graduated from Texas A&M University in 1990, and was a proud Aggie for life. College Football Season was a beloved time! Mike worked for Vencor and Kindred Hospital for over two decades in hospital finance, and enjoyed about six years of retirement before his passing. He devoted many years to Boy Scouts, loved playing the guitar, the outdoors, travel, and music in all forms.

He was an outstanding husband and father and is survived by his wife, Kristen Comer, and two children, Sara and Nathan Comer. He is also survived by his mother, Janet Comer, sister Kelly Frosch, brother Tim Comer, nephews Blake and Jacob Frosch, and nieces Kendall Brownstein and Taylor Comer.

The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of The UCSD Lung Transplant Program for the care and compassion they showed Mike in his final weeks.
