Pat entered her heavenly mansion on October 19. She temporarily left behind a husband of 72 years and family and friends who loved her dearly. She was proud of her kids and grandkids and loved their spouses and families. She was a wonderful wife, mom, grandma and dog mom.
Her most notable feature was her ever-present smile. Pat would always quote “A smile on the face is like a light in the window - it lets people know someone’s home.” She is remembered for her sweet disposition and a home that made others feel welcome. Her house was a home to exchange students, missionaries on furlough, those in need and others who needed temporary places live. She welcomed squirrelly high school kids and mentored single adults. She was kind and empathetic for those who needed a listening ear. She seemed to see needs and hurts that others didn’t see. She loved to travel and especially loved the beautiful hills of West Virginia and the warmth and beauty of Hawaii. She enjoyed cruises and dancing. It was not uncommon, even in her 90’s, to see Pat start to wiggle when upbeat music was playing. She loved to tease and be teased. Most importantly, she loved her Savior and accepted his gift of salvation and life of service at a young age. We look forward to God’s promise that we’ll see her again!
A celebration of life service will be held Friday, November 18 at 1:00 p.m. at the North Coast Church campus (Chapel/Traditions venue) at 2405 N. Santa Fe Ave, Vista, CA. A light reception will follow.
