

Renée Christine Calder, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on October 29, 2025, in San Diego, California, at the age of 38. Born on September 15, 1987, in Long Beach, California, Renée filled the world around her with passion, laughter, and boundless love from the very beginning. She lived a life guided by faith, always trusting in God’s plan and letting His love lead the way.
From a young age, growing up in Irvine, Renée had a heart drawn to creativity. She found joy in singing, dancing, drawing, and playing piano—talents that allowed her to be on stage, which she adored. She graduated from Northwood High School in Irvine and later received her Bachelors in Journalism with an emphasis in News Broadcasting from Chico State.
She approached life with curiosity, excitement, and a deep appreciation for every experience and connection she made along the way. She loved cooking and creating elevated dishes at home for her family and friends. Renée was a lifelong reader and adventurer at heart. Her competitive nature led her to enjoy Football and Fantasy Leagues over the years.
Renée started her career in the restaurant business where she met multiple lifelong friends. She continued to develop her career in hospitality focusing on the travel industry. She started working at Expedia understanding the ins and outs of all things travel and allowed her to see the world. Renée took a leap and moved to Missouri to continue her development in the travel industry joining Actabl and Cloud Beds where she became an expert in her field.
Renée loved fiercely and selflessly. She cherished her friends and never hesitated to drop everything to support them. Her ability to make others feel seen, valued, and loved was one of her greatest gifts. Those who knew her will forever remember her warmth, her radiant positivity, and the way she loved with her whole heart.
She is survived by her parents, David and Linda Calder; her sister, Elaine Phillips; and her brother, Douglas Calder. Renée also leaves behind her cherished dogs, Emma and Nellie, who brought her immeasurable joy and companionship. She loved being an Aunt to her nephew Jameson, and niece Morgan, whom she spoiled.
Renée’s spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her. May her memory be a blessing and a reminder of the beauty of a life lived with passion, kindness, and love. Renée is truly loved and will be missed by all.
A Celebration of Life for Renée will be held on November 30th at 3:00 PM in the Orange Seventh-day Adventist Church: 1310 E Walnut Ave, Orange, CA 92867
At a future date, Renee will be interred at Pacific View Memorial Park.
