Richard M. Blankenburg of San Diego, California died April 28, 2025 at the age of 95 years. Richard was born April 8, 1930 in Decatur, Illinois. He moved from Illinois to California in 1956 when he accepted a high school teaching position in San Diego. Later he earned a doctoral degree in Education, worked at universities in Connecticut and Wisconsin, and retired from Mesa College, in San Diego, in 1986. Richard spent his retirement years traveling and writing.
Richard is survived by his daughter Erin Relph of Santa Rosa, California, daughter Lisa Barksdale of Manhattan, Montana and son Eric Blankenburg of Sacramento, California. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
