Bruce William Ullmann

Bruce William Ullmann passed on June 27, 2026, at the age of 85. He left behind a legacy of love, honesty, and quiet courage. He wasn’t a man of many words, but the ones he chose mattered. His life was shaped by complexity, determination, and a spirit entirely his own.

Bruce grew up in New Jersey. He loved telling his daughter stories from his childhood in Totowa, including the legendary “mile and a half walk” to Memorial School — a tale later revealed to be only one block long. That mix of mischief and charm followed him throughout his life.

He went on to Passaic Valley High School in Little Falls, then earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck. He later completed his MBA at Santa Clara University.

Before he met Helen Ullmann, his wife, he was a member of the Stanford Bachelor's Club and was a past president. He was also the beneficiary of some of the Club's skiing outings at Lake Tahoe.

Bruce built a successful career as an intelligent and driven entrepreneur, founding and leading Amasco. He was devoted to generously supporting his wife, Helen Ullmann, and daughter, Erica Ullmann, throughout their lives.

Known for his sharp one liners and dry humor, Bruce delighted in teasing his younger brothers, Brian and Geoff, and was famous for singing “I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas” off key after a drink or two — lighting up any room with laughter.

He found community and purpose in the Cupertino Rotary, where he once served as President. Members affectionately honored him with their playful song, “I Got Your Bruce,” a twist on Sonny and Cher’s classic. Loved ones often called him “Brucey.”

He loved sailing, skiing, hiking, and running. He completed the Bay to Breakers several years in a row and proudly ran the Honolulu Marathon. He also ran the New York Marathon.

He is survived by Helen Ullmann (wife of 50 years), Erica Ullmann (daughter), Todd Perrine (future son-in-law), Brian Ullmann (younger brother), Diane Ullmann (Sister-in-law), Geoff Ullmann (youngest brother), Debbie Ullmann (sister-in-law), Linda Almgren (first cousin), Lissa Favata (niece), Rich Favata (husband of niece), Ryan Favata (grandniece), Justus (grandnephew), Karen Boneau (niece), Brian Boneau (husband of niece ), Greg Ullmann (nephew), Katy Ullmann (niece), Doug Sun (fiancé of niece), Mhahick Ullmann (wife of nephew), Marthena Ullmann (grandniece), Geremia Ullmann (grandniece), Bert Hughes (best man at wedding and dear friend), Carol Hughes (dear friend and wife of best man), Bill Whitmer (dear friend), Noel and Edie Brown (close friends), Rich Potter (close friend), Barbara Black (dear friend) Debbi Flint (dear friend) who will miss his presence, and his soft laugh.

Bruce was entrusted to the sea, on August 22nd, 2026 in Santa Cruz, California in a private sea scattering. May the endless sea be his final resting place, and may his memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved him.
