Daniel Paul Hoffman

Daniel Hoffman, of Fresno, California, passed away on October 19, 2026. Born on November 18, 1957, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Dan lived a life full of hard work, family, and good times on the water.

Dan had a true entrepreneurial spirit. He started his first business, a delivery service for Airborne Express, and later ran Dan's Heating and Air Conditioning. For the last 15 years, he worked for the State Center Community College District as a Building Generalist, a job he thoroughly enjoyed until his retirement in August 2025.

To know Dan was to love him. He had a gift for walking into a room full of strangers and coming out with a room full of friends. He was a hard worker who never hesitated to step up and lend a hand, and with his talent for fixing just about anything, there was no shortage of folks who needed him. He had a sweet nature and was a wonderful provider. Above all, he loved his family.

Dan was happiest on the water. Every summer meant camping at the beach and spending weekends boating on Millerton Lake, where a whole lake group would gather to ski, tube, and surf. In recent years, he loved introducing his grandsons to the joy of being out on the water.

Dan was married to his beloved Lisa for 41 years. He is survived by Lisa; his sons, Ian and spouse Zalleene, Sean and spouse Liz; his grandsons, Addy, Gavriel, and River; his brothers Robb, Kevin, and Brian; and his sister, Brenda Beal. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Betty.

Do not stand at my grave and weep; I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush. Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there, I did not die.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude, so that no child dies of cancer.
