Marion Lee Miller of Fresno, California passed away in her home on May 11, 2026, at the age of 80 following a long illness. Marion was born in Santa Paula, California on December 26, 1945, to Marion and DP Pike. She attended Ventura High School and San Diego State University.
Marion married Kenneth Maynard Miller, Jr. and together had two children, Erin Michelle Horton and Heather Lynn McDonald. Marion worked at the County of Fresno as the Manager of the Resources Division and was affectionately known to her family as the “Garbage Queen.” Marion is survived by Kenneth Miller, Erin Horton (spouse John Horton), Heather McDonald (spouse Rex McDonald), and four grandchildren Claire Horton, Amelia Horton, Alex McDonald, and Elizabeth McDonald. She was predeceased by her father, DP Pike, her mother, Marion Pike, and her brother, Robert Pike.
Marion (aka Bam) was a generous, warm, loving, kind wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, going to the beach, and reading. She was quick witted and funny, always had a smile on her face, joy in her heart, and tremendous patience with our family’s silly antics. She was a bright light in all our lives, was deeply loved, and will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank Hinds Hospice and A Plus In Home Care for their amazing and unwavering support and care for Marion and Ken during Marion’s last years.
