William Gregg “Bill” Nordvik, born April 23, 1947, passed away on November 17, 2025, at the age of 78. He died peacefully at his home in Royal Oaks, California, doing something he loved–caring for his greenhouse overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Bill was the second of three sons born to the late Karl and Bernice Nordvik of Fremont, California.
Bill is survived by his wife, Victoria Page Nordvik; his sons Karl Robert “Rob” Nordvik of Sparks, Nevada, and William Gregg Nordvik, Jr. of Milpitas, California; and his stepdaughter Amy Dyanne Cooper of Royal Oaks, California. He leaves behind a cherished family that includes his granddaughter Faith Alexandra Nordvik of Washington, D.C.; grandson William Robert Nordvik of Sparks, Nevada; granddaughter Marlo Angelia Nordvik of San Jose, California; step-grandson Kevin Thomas Cooper of Royal Oaks, California; step-granddaughter Haley Paige Brock of Emmett, Idaho; step-grandson Tre Carl Robertson-Fields of Gilbert, Arizona; step-great-granddaughters Harper Ashley Cooper and Maddison Paige Cooper of Royal Oaks, California; and step-great-grandson Cooper James Brock of Emmett, Idaho. He is also survived by his brother Kurt Walter Nordvik of Angels Camp, California. Bill was preceded in death by his older brother, Michael Harry Nordvik of Fremont, California. His family and step-family brought him great joy.
After graduating from Washington High School in Fremont, Bill married Claire Niki Kirby, with whom he shared and raised his two sons. He began his professional life as an air traffic controller, serving with dedication for twelve years. A new opportunity later led him into the field of equipment sales–first with James Old & Son, and later with Silicon Valley Shelving–where he built a long and successful career. Bill’s natural talent for business, combined with his genuine ability to connect with people, made him a respected and admired figure in his industry for decades.
In the mid-2000s, Bill founded Nordvik Materials with his son Bill Jr. His son Rob joined the company in 2024, and together the brothers will continue the work their father began. Bill approached every endeavor with originality and vision. He did not live by convention; instead, he forged new paths, created inventive solutions, and inspired those around him. His intelligence, fortitude, grace, charm, and unwavering determination were unmistakable to all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life honoring Bill will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 1:00–5:00 PM at 3 Steves Winery, 5700 Greenville Road, Livermore, California.
